• Can this be a local app instead of a web page?

  It already is a local app. All your jury data is stored in your browser's local storage on your device. Nothing is sent to any server unless you explicitly enable Team Sharing.

  You can bookmark this page, use it offline (after the first load), and your data persists between sessions. Clear your browser data and it's gone forever from your device.

• Do you have access to my jury data?

  No. If you're using the tool without Team Sharing, your data never leaves your browser. It's stored in localStorage on your device only.

  If you enable Team Sharing, your data is end-to-end encrypted before it ever leaves your browser. The server only stores encrypted data that cannot be read without your credentials.

  There's no analytics, no tracking, no third-party scripts (except payment processors during checkout). I'm an attorney; I built this for attorneys.

• Does the race/sex guess require an internet connection or share my data?

  No. The race and sex estimation is based on the juror's name, not facial recognition. When you enter a name, the tool checks it against demographic data files that are loaded and cached in your browser.

  Last names are matched against census surname data to estimate race. First names are matched against Social Security Administration data to estimate likely sex. All lookups happen locally in your browser — no names are sent to any server.

  These are statistical guesses based on name frequency data, not certainties. The dimmed appearance indicates an unconfirmed estimate. Click the race or sex indicator to manually set and "lock" the value based on your own observation, which is always more reliable than a name-based guess.

• How can I use AI to help with jury selection?

  Click "Save to File" to download your jury data as a JSON file. This file contains all juror information in a structured format that AI assistants can easily parse.

  Upload the JSON file to your preferred AI service (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) along with your case summary and ask questions like:

  • "Based on this case involving X, which jurors should I be concerned about?"
  • "Identify jurors whose occupations might bias them toward the plaintiff."
  • "Summarize the key concerns I noted across all jurors."
  • "Draft voir dire questions targeting juror #7's noted skepticism of insurance companies."

  The JSON export includes all fields: name, occupation, notes, ratings, demographics, and strike status. The AI can analyze patterns you might miss when reviewing 40+ jurors under time pressure.

• How does Team Sharing work?

  Team Sharing lets multiple attorneys collaborate on the same jury panel in real-time. One person creates a session (which generates a passphrase), then shares the case name + passphrase with teammates.

  Example workflow: Lead counsel is in the courtroom entering juror responses during voir dire. An associate is at the office running background research. As the associate finds relevant information (prior litigation, social media, news articles), they add it to the juror's notes. Lead counsel sees updates appear instantly.

  The "gut score" feature lets each attorney independently rate jurors 1-5. The system averages all votes so you can see where the team agrees or disagrees.

  The Owner designation determines whose edits take priority in a conflict. The owner can release ownership to another connected user. Up to 6 users can connect to one session.

  Sessions auto-delete after 366 days of inactivity. You can manually disconnect at any time, and your local copy remains on your device.

• What do the colored dots and ratings mean?

  The gut score (1-5 stars) is your instinctive rating of the juror: 1 = strongly unfavorable, 3 = neutral, 5 = strongly favorable. With Team Sharing, everyone's votes are averaged.

  The sharing dot next to "Sharing" indicates connection status:

  • Green = connected and syncing
  • Orange/pulsing = reconnecting
  • Red = disconnected (changes are local only until reconnected)

  Juror cards show a green border when seated, yellow/amber for alternates, and diagonal stripes when struck (blue for plaintiff strikes, red for defense strikes, orange for judge excused).

• Can I use this on my phone or tablet?

  Yes. The tool is fully responsive and works on phones and tablets.

  On iOS, use Safari's "Add to Home Screen" option (tap Share, then "Add to Home Screen") to install it as an app. On Android, Chrome will prompt you to install it, or use the menu and select "Install app" or "Add to Home Screen."

  Once installed, it opens full-screen without browser chrome and works offline.

  The "Keep Awake" button (visible on supported devices) prevents your screen from dimming during voir dire.

• Can I use this offline?

  Yes. After your first visit, the app caches everything needed to run offline. You can use it in airplane mode, in a courthouse basement with no signal, or anywhere else.

  Your jury data is always stored locally in your browser, so it's available whether you're online or not.

  What works offline: All core functionality — adding jurors, taking notes, tracking strikes, the gut score system, race/sex estimation, saving to file, and loading from file.

  What requires internet: Team Sharing (syncing with other users), creating new shared sessions, and processing payments. If you lose connection during an active Team Sharing session, your changes are saved locally and will sync when you reconnect.
