An insurer authorized to transact insurance in a foreign country may have funds invested in such securities as may be required for such authority and for the transaction of such business. Canadian securities eligible for investment under other provisions of this part are not subject to this section. Subject to the approval of the office:(1) An insurer may invest in eurodollar certificates of deposit issued by foreign branches of United States commercial banks.
(2) In addition to Canadian securities eligible for investment and to investments in countries in which an insurer transacts insurance, an insurer may invest in bonds, notes, or stocks of any foreign country or corporation if such security meets the general requirements of s. 625.303 and does not exceed, in total, 5 percent of admitted assets.
