The Appendix to Title 50 (War and National Defense) no longer exists. The Office of the Law Revision Counsel eliminated it in 2015 by editorial reclassification, which renumbers the Code without changing the law: the Acts still in force were moved into Title 50 under new section numbers, and Acts whose provisions had all been repealed or omitted were dropped from the Code.
50 U.S.C. App. § 511 was classified under the Appendix heading “Servicemembers Civil Relief Act” (50 U.S.C. App. 501 et seq.), now at 50 U.S.C. § 3901 et seq.
Pub. L. 108–189 (Dec. 19, 2003) amended this Act generally — it had been the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Civil Relief Act of 1940 — and renumbered its sections, so a citation written before 2004 may refer to a different provision than the one shown below.
