Scope of regulation
The regulations in this part govern marine casualty reporting, investigations of marine casualties, and submission of reports designed to increase the likelihood of timely assistance to floating outer continental shelf (OCS) facilities, mobile offshore drilling units (MODUs), and other vessels in distress.
