Call Now: 904-383-7448The board of regents may establish such rules and regulations for its own direction as it may deem proper; may fix the term of office of its chairman, its vice-chairman, and its secretary; and is vested with all of the powers, privileges, and rights vested in former boards of trustees of the University of Georgia and all former boards of trustees or directors of its branches. It is charged with all of the duties, obligations, and responsibilities incumbent upon or pertaining to the former boards.

- Valid and authorized contract of employment between the state department having charge of the university system and a person for the position of instructor of one of the university's branches is enforceable against the state and should be performed by the state according to the contract's terms and provisions. - As long as the officials of the colleges and universities of the State of Georgia act in good faith while discharging their duties and responsibilities in enforcing the reasonable rules and regulations set down by the colleges and universities, the officials are not liable to any student expelled for breaking such rules and regulations. 1960-61 Op.
