Effect of article on powers and duties of other officials and departments
This article shall not affect the duties, powers, or responsibilities of the Safety Fire Commissioner, the state fire marshal, the sheriff’s office, the Department of Public Safety, local law enforcement agencies, the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Natural Resources, the State Forestry Commission, the Department of Transportation, the Department of Defense, or the Department of Public Health.

OPINIONS OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL Fire ordinances for day care centers. - The authority of local governments to enact fire ordinances for day care centers was preempted by former O.C.G.A. § 49-5-14 [repealed], which gave
the Board of Human Resources (now Board of Human Services) authority to adopt fire safety codes for day care centers. 1984 Op. Att’y Gen. No. 84-9.
