Iowa Code § 306C.20 (2026)

The department shall enter into agreements with the duly constituted federal authorities in order to secure for the state all bonus federal funds allotted and appropriations to the state and to avoid loss or reduction, under 23 U.S.C. §131, of federal aid funds apportioned or to be apportioned to the state under 23 U.S.C. §104. The department may accept funds from whatever source, including any allotment of funds by the United States, or any of its departments or agencies, appropriated to carry out the purposes of 23 U.S.C. §131. The department shall take such steps as may be necessary to obtain from the United States or any of its departments or agencies, funds allotted and appropriated for the purpose of paying the federal share of just compensation to be paid to advertising device owners and owners of the real property under the terms of this chapter and 23 U.S.C. §131(g).
