Lafayette Parish Sch. Bd. v. Market Leasing
The act of leasing includes the possession by the lessee, and continued contact between lessor and lessee to ensure that the automobile is "properly maintained and protected against waste; that it is kept in an acceptable state of repair; that it is covered by insurance sufficient to protect the interest of the owner; ... that the rents ... are paid by the lessee as they periodically accrue under the terms of the lease."
