2014A previous version of Indiana’s operating a vehicle as an HTV provision did not include the phrase “validly suspended.” Instead, it provided that “[a] person who operates a motor vehicle: (1) while the person’s driving privileges are suspended under this chapter. . .; or (2) in violation of the restrictions imposed under this chapter . . . commits a Class D felony.” See Stewart v. State, 721 N.E.2d 876, 878 (Ind. 1999).
