Rule 18. Place of prosecution and trial. Except as otherwise provided by statute or by these rules, the prosecution shall be had in the county in which the offense is alleged to have been committed. When two or more offenses that may be charged in the same indictment or information pursuant to Rule 8(a) are alleged to have been committed in more than one county, the prosecution may be had in any county in which one or more of the offenses is alleged to have been committed.
