Rule 43.4. Smoking Bail Forfeiture Schedule. Pursuant to AS 18.35.341(d), the following bail forfeiture amounts are established for violations of the laws prohibiting smoking in designated public places. If a person charged with one of these offenses appears in court and is convicted, the penalty imposed for the offense may not exceed the bail amount for that offense listed below. Statute Description of Offense Bail AS 18.35.301 Smoking in a place in which smoking is prohibited $50 AS 18.35.306 Failure to display no smoking signs 100 AS 18.35.311 Failure by employer/building manager to prohibit smoking AS 18.35.326 Retaliation by employer re: enforcing or cooperation with smoking laws (Adopted by SCO 776 effective January 1, 1987; amended by SCO 1152 effective February 1, 1994; SCO 1805 effective October 15, 2013 and by SCO 1931 October 1, 2018.)
