Sec. 84a-4. Reference of Issues of Fact (a) Reference Issues of fact closed on pleadings in an original action in the Supreme Court may be referred, by order of the chief justice or his or her designee, to a senior judge, justice or judge trial referee or, should the parties agree, to any other person or persons, which referral may contain such provi- sions as the court deems advisable. (b) Procedure Unless otherwise ordered by the court, if any reference is made pursuant to subsection (a), the rules of practice pertaining to references in Chap- ter 19 of these rules shall apply. (c) Costs of references The court may allocate the costs of the refer- ence in its discretion. (Adopted June 2, 2005, to take effect Jan. 1, 2006.)
