Rule 72. Appeals, Certifications and Mandates (a) Appeals to Court of Chancery. Unless otherwise provided by statute, an appeal to the Court of Chancery may be commenced by a complaint or by a notice of appeal. (b) Certification. A party may move to certify a question of law or an interlocutory appeal to the Supreme Court. The motion must comply with applicable Supreme Court rules and provide a proposed form of order. (c) Supreme Court Mandate. After receiving a Supreme Court mandate, the Register must file it on the docket. If this Court’s judgment is reversed or modified— or if further proceedings are necessary—the parties may file an appropriate stipulation, order, or motion. History.
