(1) Subject to specific appropriations, it is the intent of the Legislature to provide incentives to encourage children’s services councils or juvenile welfare boards to provide support to local child welfare programs related to implementation of community-based care.(a) A children’s services council or juvenile welfare board, as authorized in s. 125.901, may submit a request for funding or continued funding to the Department of Children and Families to support programs funded by the council or board for local child welfare services related to implementation of community-based care. (b) The Department of Children and Families shall establish grant application procedures.
(2) The Department of Children and Families shall make award determinations no later than October 1 of each year. All applicants shall be notified by the department of its final action.
(3) Each council or board that is awarded a grant as provided for in this section shall submit performance and output information as determined by the Department of Children and Families.
