The department by rule shall establish fees to be paid for application for licensure, application for license renewal, and the penalty fee for renewal of a license which has been inactive for 1 year or less. The fees shall be based on the actual costs incurred by the water management districts in carrying out the responsibilities related to licensure of water well contractors as derived from estimates provided by the water management districts of the revenue required to implement this part, but shall not exceed the following amounts:(1) Application for initial licensure, $150.
(2) Biennial license renewal, $50.
(3) Penalty for renewal of a license which has been inactive for 1 year or less, $75.
All fees and other moneys collected by a water management district pursuant to this part shall be deposited in the general operating fund of the water management district.
