(1) Upon application by any authorized inspection agency, the chief boiler inspector shall issue a certificate of competency as a special boiler inspector to any inspector employed by the authorized inspection agency, if such boiler inspector satisfies the competency requirements for inspectors as provided in s. 554.104. Special boiler inspectors shall perform inspections of insured boilers in accordance with the inspection frequency set forth in s. 554.108. (2) The certificate of competency of a special boiler inspector remains in effect only so long as the special boiler inspector is employed by an authorized inspection agency. Upon termination of employment with such company, such company shall, in writing, notify the chief boiler inspector of such special boiler inspector’s termination. Such notice must be given within 15 days following the date of termination.
