(1) Each authorized health maintenance organization shall provide records and information to the Agency for Health Care Administration pursuant to s. 409.910(20) and (21) for the sole purpose of identifying potential coverage for claims filed with the agency and its fiscal agents for payment of medical services under the Medicaid program. (2) Any information provided by a health maintenance organization under this section to the agency shall not be considered a violation of any right of confidentiality or contract that the health maintenance organization may have with covered persons. The health maintenance organization is immune from any liability that it may otherwise incur through its release of information to the agency under this section.
