ARTICLE 1 FOREST RESOURCES

12-6-7. Federal financial aid - Participation in rural fire prevention and control program; contributions by counties and fire departments.

  1. The commission may enter into agreements with the secretary of agriculture of the United States in order to participate in the rural fire prevention and control program authorized by the Cooperative Forestry Assistance Act of 1978, Public Law 95-313.
  2. With respect to the formulation of projects relating to fire protection of livestock, wildlife, crops, pastures, orchards, range land, woodland, farmsteads, or other improvements, and other values in rural areas, for which such federal matching funds are available, any participating county or fire department may contribute to the nonfederal matching share and may also contribute such other nonfederal cooperation as may be deemed necessary by the commission.
