Rule 57. TERMINATION.

A special administration terminates upon order of the court. It is often unclear when a special administrator's appointment ends. Where the special administration is a prelude to the appointment of a personal representative, the appointment of the personal representative automatically terminates the special administrator's appointment, but the order appointing the personal representative should specifically terminate the special administration.
