Rule 2.51 Scope of rules and definitions. 2.51(1) Scope. The rules set forth in this section shall apply to trials, related proceedings, and appeals from conviction of simple misdemeanors. 2.51(2) Definition. For purposes of this section, “magistrate” includes judicial magistrates, district associate judges, and district judges.
