Commissioner — duties

The commissioner shall:

1. Employ the necessary staff and assistants, within the limit of available funds, to assist in carrying out the provisions of this chapter.

2. Appoint necessary consultants and advisors to assist the commissioner in carrying out the provisions of this chapter.

3. Study the operation of the state building code, local building regulations, and other laws relating to the construction of buildings or structures to ascertain their effects upon the\n\nTue Dec 09 22:28:35 2025 Iowa Code 2026, Chapter 103A (50, 1) §103A.5, STATE BUILDING CODE 4\n\ncost of building construction and the effectiveness of their provisions for health, safety, and welfare.
