Reorganization of Agency for International Development
(a) In generalThe Agency for International Development shall be reorganized in accordance with this chapter and the reorganization plan transmitted pursuant to section 6601 of this title.
(b) Functions to be transferredThe reorganization of the Agency for International Development shall provide, at a minimum, for the transfer to and consolidation with the Department of State of the following functions of AID:(1) The Press office.(2) Certain administrative functions.(Pub. A, title XV, § 1501, Oct. 21, 1998, 112 Stat. 2681–793, provided that: “This title [enacting this subchapter], and the amendments made by this title, shall take effect on the earlier of—“(1)April 1, 1999; or“(2) the date of reorganization [Apr. 1, 1999] of the Agency for International Development pursuant to the reorganization plan described in section 1601 [22 U.S.C. 6601].”
