Penalties

Any agency or individual violating subpart B of these regulations shall be subject to a civil penalty not to exceed $10,000 for a violation occurring before September 29, 1999, and not to exceed $11,000 for a violation occurring on after September 29, 1999. For civil penalties assessed after August 1, 2016, whose associated violations occurred after November 2, 2015, see the civil penalty amount as provided in 28 CFR 85.5. In addition, OJARS may initiate fund cut-off procedures against recipients of OJARS assistance.
