Call Now: 904-383-7448The purpose of this chapter is to protect the public health, safety, and environment of the people of this state by authorizing the Board of Natural Resources to adopt, administer, and enforce a program for licensing contractors and for requiring training for asbestos supervisors, and by managing the removal or encapsulation of friable asbestos-containing materials from facilities and residential dwellings in the safest manner possible. This chapter establishes a program of contractor licensing and a program of notification, fees, and certification for asbestos removal or encapsulation projects to be administered by the director of the Environmental Protection Division of the Department of Natural Resources.
