TITLE 43 PROFESSIONS AND BUSINESSES

Section 26. Nurses, 43-26-1 through 43-26-65.

ARTICLE 1 GEORGIA REGISTERED PROFESSIONAL NURSE PRACTICE ACT

43-26-9.1. Inactive status; restoration of inactive license; nurses on inactive status barred from practicing.

  1. A registered professional nurse, subject to rules of the board and on forms prescribed by the board, may request that his or her license be placed on inactive status and to be excused from payment of renewal fees until he or she resumes active status.
  2. A licensee on inactive status may have his or her license restored by submitting an application to the board on a form prescribed by the board and paying the required restoration fee. The board shall require evidence of competency to resume the practice of nursing as a registered professional nurse in order to restore the license to active status.
  3. A registered professional nurse or advanced practice registered nurse whose license is on inactive status shall not practice nursing as a registered professional nurse or an advanced practice registered nurse in this state.
