The purpose of this article is: (1) To promote the health and physical fitness of the citizens of this state; (2) To promote participation in amateur sports by citizens of all ages and skill levels; (3) To promote a state-wide program of amateur athletic competition, culminating in state championship competitions; and (4) To promote state, national, and international amateur sports through the establishment of Olympic training facilities within the state.
