The department may promulgate rules with respect to the placement in escrow accounts by any person required to be licensed by this article of any money, fund, deposit, check, or draft entrusted to it by any persons dealing with it as a residential mortgage loan originator, mortgage broker, mortgage lender, or servicer.

Code 1981, § 7-1-1015, enacted by Ga. L. 1993, p. 543, § 1; Ga. L. 2009, p. 252, § 1/HB 312; Ga. L. 2024, p. 354, § 1-32/HB 876, effective July 1, 2024.

Amendments. The 2024 amendment, effective July 1, 2024, deleted “or registered” following “licensed” near the middle of the Code section.
