A bank holding company domiciled in this state and operating under the laws of this state or a nonbank subsidiary or agent of such bank holding company may establish a representative office anywhere in this state upon registering with the department.

The 2016 amendment, effective July 1, 2016, in this Code section, substituted "the laws of this state" for "its laws or the laws of the United States" in the first and second sentences and added "upon registering with the department" at the end of the first and second sentences.
