There is hereby created a department of the state government which shall be known and designated as the department of public safety, which shall consist of a commissioner of public safety and of such officers and employees as may be required. 1. “Commissioner” means the commissioner of public safety.

3. “Counterfeit substance” means the same as defined in section 124.101.

4. “Department” means the department of public safety.

5. “Peace officer” means a peace officer of the department as defined in section 97A.1. 2005 Acts, ch 35, §1 \n
