Any person who willfully fails to appear in court as specified by the citation shall be guilty of a simple misdemeanor. Where a defendant fails to make a required court appearance, the court shall issue an arrest warrant for the offense of failure to appear, and shall forward the warrant and the original or electronically produced citation to the clerk.
