board or commission member. A person may serve as a member of the General Assembly or may be a candidate for election to the General Assembly and at the same time be a member of a state administrative board or commission. Such membership shall not constitute a conflict of interest. Any member of the General Assembly who serves on a state administrative board or commission shall receive no compensation for serving on such board or commission other than his expenses, unless it is required by law that the membership of the board or commission include a member of the General Assembly, in which case he shall receive the same compensation in the same manner as any other member of the board or commission.
