1992Recently, in Vergara v. Doan (1992), Ind., 593 N.E.2d 185 , Ind. No. 90$804-9206-CV-436, our supreme court abandoned the similar locality standard of care and adopted the standard of care under which "a physician must exercise that degree of care, skill, and proficiency exercised by reasonably careful, skillful, and prudent practitioners in the same class to which he belongs, acting under the same or similar circumstances." Id. at 187 . 4 .
