DOMESTIC RELATIONS
ARTICLE 1
GENERAL PROVISIONS (EFFECTIVE UNTIL SEPTEMBER 1, 2018)
19-8-8. (Effective until September 1, 2018) Adoption based upon foreign decrees and valid visa.
A child may be adopted pursuant to the provisions of this chapter based upon:

A decree which has been entered pursuant to due process of law by a court of competent jurisdiction outside the United States establishing the relationship of parent and child by adoption between each petitioner and a child born in such foreign country; and

The child's having been granted a valid visa by the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service.
